The First Sim Racing Experience in Colombia Is Hiding in Envigado

A great non-touristy Medellín activity for travelers and gamers alike ✈️
Affordable pricing and weekday 2-for-1 racing promo 🤑
A little known fact about me is that I have a 313 day marathon streak going on GranTourismo 7 on PS5. I love sim racing games, and I have since the first GranTourismo released in 1997. I was lucky because I worked for Sony Computer Entertainment of America, and got to QA test it for 5 months before it was released. It grew on me especially since I love cars and racing, I was also able to build a modded version of my own car that I could never afford to build in real life. But that is what is so great about video games, the biggest issue I have is while I have a pretty incredible audio and video setup, I am missing a wheel/pedal/shifter combo and a seat. Let's face it, if you're playing a racing game with a controller, you're missing out on a huge element of realism. Someday. Someday I'll have that in my home.
If you're living in Medellín or just visiting, and you’re into video games or car culture, you need to check this place out.
I found Meet Races completely by accident. I was walking from Viva Envigado toward La Frontera when I saw the sign; small, nothing flashy. But I walked in, and damn. Total jackpot.
This is not an arcade. It’s a full sim racing lounge with serious setups:
Multi-screen displays
High-end racing seats
Realistic steering wheels and pedal rigs
Games like Assetto Corsa and Gran Turismo
It feels like a mix between a gamer’s dream and a training facility for someone trying to shave seconds off their Nürburgring lap time. I’ve played sim racers for years, but this is the first time I’ve found anything like this in South America.
Sim Racing as a Real Activity in Medellín
If you're a tourist or expat looking for something different to do in the city, Meet Races actually delivers. Medellín has hiking, paragliding, and day trips—but it’s also becoming a lowkey hub for tech and gaming culture. This place is part of that.
You can race solo or compete against someone next to you. If you're planning a date, this easily beats sitting in Parque Lleras yelling over reggaeton. And yes, it’s fun even if you’re not a hardcore gamer.
It’s not just about the gameplay. It’s the feeling of control, speed, and adrenaline, without the risk of crashing your rental car in El Poblado traffic.
